  2. Setelah ikan sdh dipotong-potong dan dicuci dengan bersih. Marinasi ikan dengan menggunakan 1 sdm garam, 12 sdm kunyit bubuk dan perasan air jeruk nipis. Lalu diamkan beberapa saat agar meresap kedalam daging ikan.
  3. Sambil menunggu ikan dimarinasi, siapkan bumbu halus yang terdiri dari bawang merah, bawang putih, jahe, kunyit, lengkuas, cabe rawit, cabe keriting, ketumbar, tomat dan kemiri dengan cara diuleg atau diblender.
  4. Jika ikan telah selesai dimarinasi siapkan panci untuk merebus ikannya. Untuk merebus ikan jangan sampai terlalu matang agar daging ikan tidak hancur.
  5. Jika ikan telah direbus, kemudian siapkan wajan dan panasi minyak goreng. Lalu mulai goreng ikannya hingga warna berubah menjadi golden brown. Goreng menggunakan api sedang. Kemudian sisihkan ikan yang telah digoreng.
  6. Siapkan wajan dan panaskan minyak untuk menumis bumbu halus. Tumis bumbu halus hingga wangi dan tanak. Masukan serei yang telah digeprek kemudian aduk-aduk agar bumbu halus tidak gosong. Masukan 12 sdm garam dan 1 sdm gula pasir.
  7. Tambahkan 500 ml air sambil terus diaduk lalu masukan ikan yang sdh digoreng. Kemudian masukan 200 ml santan kental. Aduk terus sampai matang agar santan tidak pecah. Masukan penyedap rasa dan kemudian koreksi rasa.
  8. Bawal kari kuning siap dihidangkan.
